How to seal a leaking corrugated roof. Make sure you have a metal roofing base coat and apply a uniform layer at least 6 inches in each direction from the spot of the gap. Cut a swath of glass membrane fabric to size and cover the base coat with it. Sometimes the water shows up at a ceiling spot distant from the leak. Apply a generous coat of lacquer.
Cut the fabric to size with. You will need around 20 nails or screws for one sheet. Climb up onto a ladder to access the corrugated panels using caution as you walk on them due to the wavy surface. You can also apply an emergency repair coating to seal the bolt hole.

Some roof leaks are tough to locate. Step 2 insert a tube of butyl caulking into a caulk gun and snip the end off using sharp scissors. Use a scrap piece of cloth to clean the area where the leak is. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation push the insulation aside and look for flow stains on the plastic often water runs to openings in the vapor barrier such as at ceiling light fixtures.
Follow up by using the sealing tape. You can repair this by replacing the washer and bolt or using a flexible tape or coating to seal the area. Apply uniform layer of metal roofing base coat 6 inches each way of the gap at the overlap with a paintbrush. Step 2 use a polyurethane sealant and apply it around the boltholes on the underside of the panels and allow to dry.
Install a corrugated roofing wall connector panel to a wall with roofing sealant when installing panels for a patio cover. When framing the roof the spacing for roof trusses should not exceed 24 inches 61 cm and purlins should not exceed 36 inches 91 cm apart. Secure adjoining sheets as well. Use only specialty nails or screws suited for corrugated roof as they should be more water tight and weather proof.
