Attach rope install the pull rope on the ladder assembly by threading the rope through the hole in the door. Choose a type of insulation that can be cut to size at home and installed using adhesive or glue.
Snap chalk lines onto the ceiling to represent the rough opening of the attic staircase. Then cut out the rough opening with a drywall saw. Check that the assembly is level and shim between the stair frame and joists. Look for an attic ladder that comes with an insulation cover.
Cut the drywall straight across between the two joists connecting the ends of the two cut lines on the far edge of the attic access hole.
