Remove enough siding nails to remove or loosen the siding end enough to expose the nails holding the vertical vinyl corner trim in place. Once the snap seal releases use gloved fingers to loosen the siding to a distance of 3 feet from the corner. Then using a small flat bar or a pair of them remove the siding nails holding the siding in place. You may want to wait for a warm day when the siding will be softer and more pliable.
Be sure to leave about 1 8 of the nail exposed to allow the siding to flex. Remove and replace the corner trim as needed. Vinyl siding is installed from the bottom up so you must loosen it in the opposite direction. After you get the siding loosened reattach the corner piece.
Be careful because older siding can become brittle.
